Lifestories - comics workshops for seniors, Riga, 2012
From May until end of December 2012 kuš! together with Ingrīda Pičukāne held comics workshops "Lifestories" for seniors in Latvia. The Workshops were based on grassroots comics principles - every person who has a story to tell or opinion to express can create a comics, you don't have to be a professional artist. In cooperation with different senior organizations and groups we organized comics workshops where seniors arewere welcome to share their stories and life experience and learn how to turn them into visual stories.
We have created comics with seniors from Krape Windmills, the Senior's Day Centre "Ābeļzieds", the Active Seniors' Alliance RASA in Riga and an open workshop at Kalnciema iela.
The project "Lifestories - comics workshops for seniors" was generously supported by the Soros Foundation-Latvia within the EU Partnership Funding framework. Find out more about the support programmes of Soros Foundation-Latvia here: www.sfl.lv
Dzīvesstāsti - komiksu darbnīcas senioriem, Rīgā, 2012
No 2012.gada maija līdz decembra beigām kuš! kopā ar mākslinieci Ingrīdu Pičukāni īsteno projektu "Dzīvesstāsti - komiksu darbnīcas senioriem", kura ietvaros sadarbībā ar dažādām organizācijām rīko komiksu radošās darbnīcas senioriem. Darbnīcās piedalīties aicināti seniori, kuri vēlas dalīties savā dzīves pieredzē, kā arī atklāt ko jaunu. Darbnīcās seniori stāsta stāstus un notikumus no savas dzīves un iemācās pārvērst tos vizuālos stāstos jeb komiskos. Darbnīcas tiek balstītas uz "grassroots" komiksu principiem - komiksu var radīt ikviens cilvēks, kam ir stāsts vai viedoklis, ko pastāstīt citiem, zīmēšanas prasmes nav nepieciešamas.
Līdz šim vizuālus stāstus radījuši seniori Krapes dzirnavās, Dienas centrā "Ābeļzieds" un Rīgas aktīvo senioru aliansē RASA.
Projektu "Dzīvesstāsti - komiksu darbnīcas senioriem" finansiāli atbalsta Sorosa fonds - Latvija EU Partnership Funding ietvaros. Plašāka informācija par Sorosa fonda - Latvija atbalsta virzieniem pieejama internetā www.sfl.lv.
